A second teenager who left a Miramar group home last month has been found safe, police say, leaving two others still missing.
Police say Jacqxiel M. Jamil Valentín, 16, was located in good condition Friday, Sept. 4, in the Guayama police district. The recovery was confirmed by the Missing Persons Investigation Coordinator of the Auxiliary Superintendency for Criminal Investigations (SAIC).
Condado Daily reported last week that one of the four teens who left the Hogar del Niño Manuel Fernández Juncos, in Miramar, had already been found safe — Florentino Elías William Franco, 14, located at a relative’s home in Guaynabo.
With Jamil Valentín’s recovery, two teens remain missing: Yadiel Torrales Lazú, 16, and Damon Córdova Rivera, 15.
According to the home’s director, Rodolfo De Los Ángeles Vega Carranza, the teens left the facility on the nights of Aug. 27 and Aug. 28. The search continues under the CIC San Juan Missing Persons Division.
