AAA has begun issuing automatic 50% credits to more than 37,000 water customers — including accounts across Condado, Ocean Park, Miramar, Puerta de Tierra and Placita de Santurce — to make up for service interruptions in three recent billing cycles.
Gov. Jenniffer González-Colón announced the rollout this week. It’s the implementation of a credit commitment Condado Daily first covered Sept. 4, when the Senate pressed AAA over the roughly 37,000-account universe.
The Group 2 sectors — which include Condado, Ocean Park, Miramar, Puerta de Tierra, Placita de Santurce and other San Juan, Carolina and Loíza neighborhoods — qualify for credits equal to 50% of their May, June and July 2026 bills. A separate Group 1, covering Villa Palmeras, Barrio Obrero and nearby sectors, gets credits against a different, longer set of billing periods going back to July 2025.
Customers don’t need to call, file a request or visit an office. AAA said it will notify eligible accounts by email and WhatsApp, and the credit will either reduce an outstanding balance or sit as a credit on an account that’s current. Both residential and commercial accounts qualify.
