Three businesses at Ashford Gallery, a Condado commercial building, were burglarized this week, with intruders scaling into two storefronts and prying open a security gate at a third to steal cash, San Juan Municipal Police say.
The break-ins were discovered Wednesday morning, Sept. 2, at Ashford Gallery, the building at 1472 Ashford Ave. that houses Ponte Fresco, Yogen Früz and other Condado businesses.
Ponte Fresco, the health-food restaurant on the building’s first floor, and Yogen Früz, the frozen yogurt shop, were both entered by scaling, according to police. A third business — not named in police reports — had its security gate damaged so intruders could reach the register.
Cash was taken from at least one of the businesses. The total amount stolen and the extent of any property damage had not been disclosed as of Wednesday evening.
San Juan Municipal Police officer Yoneiry Flores is investigating. No suspect description or arrest had been reported.
The burglaries add to a string of property crimes Condado Daily has tracked on Ashford Avenue this week, including charges filed in an attempted robbery at a nearby Farmacia Caridad.
